After all of my questions and the measuring, came the immunizations. Poor little thing had to have three shots in her thighs. I knew that it was not going to be good for me or her, but I had no idea how badly either of us would react. She was already a bit fussy because she was getting hungry. When the sweet nurse (Beth) stuck her, Addison just started a silent scream that lasted for a good minute while her faced turned past blood red into dark burgundy. Then the scream caught up to the face and it was LOUD. I have never heard her sound like that. She wailed and screamed and as soon as the last band aid was put on her leg, I scooped her up into my arms and held her tight and cried right along with her. I looked over at mom and she had tears in her eyes as well. I guess we were all just a bit dramatic, because Addison is just fine, but it was so hard for her to be in pain and know that as her mommy there is nothing you can do about it. Just to show you that she is okay, here's a picture taken a few hours after her shots were given:
See that smiling face. She's just soo adorable!!
I cannot believe that it has already been that long since God brought that baby girl into the world. She is such a joy to us and we are both so incredibly in love with her.
This July evening was such a beautiful day to take pictures, so here a few of the ones I like:
The shadows here belong to Jordan and I. Isn't this a neat picture?Have I mentioned how much I love my new camera?!? :)
