Thankful

I am sitting here at work anxiously awaiting my 1:00 lunch hour. I am trying not to drool. We all brought food today which has resulted in a very nice pre-Thanksgiving day spread. I can smell the turkey and dressing, broccoli casserole and green beans, chocolate cake and sweet potato roll-ups... the list goes on. As I'm dreaming of devouring it all, I can't help but think of those who are not a blessed as I am, who don't have the huge spread of delicious foods and treats. There are people who won't get anything to eat at all, and here I am hoping that the mound of food will be cooked to my liking and hoping that the turkey isn't dry. Wow, I feel so shallow. So I just want to remind you (as well as myself) that sometime amongst the hustle and bustle of the holidays, be mindful of those who are not as fortunate as you. Say a prayer and donate something that you don't need (or time-that is almost more welcome than money a lot of times) to a worthy cause. I hope to be able to bless someone this holiday season.

I hope everyone has great Thanksgiving! Take a moment to praise God for everything that you are thankful for; and maybe even some things you aren't. :)

Addison Video

(I'm hoping this works...) Here is a video of my sweet Addison. She was such a happy little girl this evening before bedtime. She was so funny in her exersaucer. She just kept nodding her head. We'd ask her a question and she just look at us and nod like crazy. Or her little music thing would play and it looked like she was headbanging to it or just kind of trying to dance. Where do they learn this from?? She is just so, so adorable.

Please excuse my annoying laughter on here. I really hate to hear recordings of my voice. It's also my baby voice, so it's really high-pitched.

Enjoy!

6 Month Well Baby Visit

We went to the doctor this morning for Addison's 6 month Well Baby visit. All of the doctors, nurses, receptionists, etc. go crazy over my child! They just ohh and ahh over her and talk about her little chubby cheeks and fat rolls everywhere.

She is always the center of attention where ever we take her. It makes me smile that she can give joy to some many people just by... being. I hope that as she grows older she will always be a joy to be around and will always want to bring peace and happiness to other people. How can I raise my child to understand the importance of a kind word and a smiling face without the unpleasantness of life bringing in its bitterness? I am scared of wanting to shelter her too much. Right now it seems impossible to have such a thing as too much sheltering from the evils of this world, but I know she has to experience them for herself at some point in her life in order to fully appreciate kindness and grace. Wow, being a parent is hard work. I get so overwhelmed thinking about how to raise her in God's word and teach her to love Him. Thankfully I don't have to do it alone.

Okay, back to the doctor's appointment. Didn't mean to rant in this post. Addison is a healthy baby girl, Thank you, GOD! She is in the 75th percentile for her weight (17lbs 4 oz), height (26 3/4 inches) and head circumference (17 inches). I asked the doctor about the little thing that connects your upper gum to your inside upper lip (yes, this is a VERY technically correct post, thank-you-very-much). I had a problem with those on the top, bottom and under my tongue and I've noticed Addison's is...umm..too connected (?) on the top (bottom lip/gum and tongue seem fine). So our pediatrician set us up an appointment to see the ENT in 2 weeks to get it checked on further. It's nothing serious and it's not at all affecting her right now, but I know from experience that it's not fun to get them "clipped" at 16 years old, so I would rather them go ahead and take care of the "problem" before its really is a problem. (I don't think any of this paragraph has made any sense. Sorry, I just don't know how to explain it any better.)

On our way out, we saw Brent and Lori with Ellett. They had another appointment to check his bilirubin levels and his weight gain/loss (hopefully gain). As of yesterday he had gained an ounce back (up to 5lbs 13 oz) and got to go off of the bili-lights. Also, they had his little head scanned this morning and they just called to say that everything looks perfect. He does have a little overlap on his front suture but it will fix itself. Phew, it's nice to finally get some good news. Keep praying for Ellett, though. That boy needs to eat!!

Half a year, already gone by

Six months ago today a beautiful, healthy baby girl was born into this world. Her Father cut her umbilical cord with wide eyes filled with wonder and love. She was placed on her exhausted mother's chest, who was suddenly wide awake and pumped full of adrenaline and emotion from the ordeal she had just been through. After the doctors inspected the baby and repaired the mother, the new family of three was left alone to bask in the love of the moment.
Fast forward six months...
That peaceful, alert tiny newborn has turned into a cute, chubby, dimpled, smiling, always moving baby girl.
Addison is all about some motion. She loves to jump and play in her exersaucer or johnny jump-up. She can sit for long periods of time without toppling over and loves to "talk". She'll smile at just about anyone who talks to her and is a very happy girl almost all of the time. She is very curious and loves to reach for things. She roles over constantly and reaches for EVERYTHING. She will fuss over not getting something that catches her interest or if something is taken away from her. She has quite the little personality blooming.
Her favorites right now include her baby whoosit (toy pictured above), the TV remote, Mommy or Daddy's cell phone and large, full cups of sweet tea (Yes, she grabbed a cup of tea at breakfast the other morning and pulled it over onto herself and her Mommy. Such fun!). She is on the verge of crawling and loves to try to walk while being supported. She loves to watch her puppies play and really, really wants to grab hand-fulls of fur; if only they would get close enough for her to grab them...but they learned their lesson long ago.
Addison weighs 17 lbs, 4 oz, is 26 3/4 inches long and has a head circumfernce of 17 inches (all in the 75th percentile). She is wearing size 2 diapers, on the verge of moving to size 3. Most of her clothes are 6 months or 6 to 9 months, but still with some 3 to 6 months.
Rice cereal, green beans and carrots are all part of her solid food repertoire, as of 6:30 this evening. She is a great eater (Can't imagine where she got that from). She's definitely ready for these solids, but she still loves to nurse, especially at bedtime. Addison is still sleeping from about 8 PM to 7/8 AM.

This little girl is the apple of her Mommy and Daddy's eyes. She has stolen the hearts of so many people in her life. She is loved beyond description and prayed for every day. Her Mommy and Daddy continue to be amazed at how she develops, grows, and learns new things.

Life for this little family of three is wonderful! God is so good!

Pray, pray pray!!

I know I gave you plenty to pray about in my post a few weeks ago, but the Cline's are in great need of your prayers right now.

Sadly, we got the call last night that Jordan's uncle, Greg, passed away last night. It breaks my heart that such a fun-loving, gentle-hearted, wonderful man is no longer with us. It is a relief to know that he is no longer in pain, but it is so sad to think of everyone he left behind. His poor wife, Loretta, works in the hospital where he died, so she will constantly be reminded of those last days when she goes to work every day. Jordan's grandma (Tutti) is so torn up right now (as you can imagine). She lost her granddaughter from breast cancer back in June and now her son just died of lung cancer.

Jordan's mom, Gena, is recuperating from her knee surgery, but slowly. She is the caretaker for her parents and she's not exactly able to do anything for them right now. Jeff (Jordan's dad) is having to solely care for not only her, but her parents as well. He is still new at his job and doesn't really have the time to be able to take off, but has had to with everything that is going on. He will have to take off again to be with his family and for his brother's funeral. He has a lot of stress factors right now and I'm worried about his overall health. Be in prayer over his job/insurance situation as well.

Jordan's sister Lori was supposed to have the Lipotripsy procedure today, but inadvertently took ibuprofen on Sunday, which is not allowed before the surgery. So it has been tentatively rescheduled for Friday. She really needs to get it done and behind her so her body can heal from everything she has had to endure these past few months. Ellett is really needing to eat better. Yesterday he had lost down to 5 lbs 12 oz, and had a bilirubin count of 20, which is critical. They are having to use the bili-lights on him. Today the count had decreased to 14, so that is great, but he'll still need the lights for another day. The doctors are saying that they don't think he's swallowing, but hopefully that will change and he'll do better.

So there is a lot going on that needs to be wrapped in God's almighty, loving hands. Thank you for the prayers I know you will send up on our behalf! We love you!

Baby Party

On Saturday Jordan, Addison and I got to hang out with this little guy:

Ellett was a bit sleepy (he's yawning here, not crying). We went over to Brent and Lori's to take them a pot roast and to hang out with the boys. Ellett was such a little angel. He slept most of the time, but Lori did manage to get him to eat about an ounce of breast milk/formula.

Notice how big his little hands are next to his face. He is so tiny, but his hands and feet are huge!! He's just as adorable as can be!!

Here's Addison playing on the play mat. She has Conner's blanket in this picture, which is a BIG DEAL. Conner has started calling his blanket "the blanket that I love". He is very attached to it and he has done so good with sharing it. When Ellett first came home, he was trembling and Conner thought he was cold, so he went and got his blanket (that he loves) and wrapped it over Ellett. Then on Saturday he let Addison play with it.

He really is a sweet boy and he's going to be a very good and protective big brother. He was "helping" Addison play with the toys on the play mat. So cute! I'm so glad she's got cousins around to play with as she gets older.

Here she is, the Monster Baby. Addison was really eyeballing his paci.

She tried really hard to get it. I thought she was going to smother him. Wow, she is into everything right now!! (and she can't even crawl yet!)

Isn't he just adorable!!

Once again Addison is about to go for the paci. She was just a little bit bigger than Ellett when she was born. Hard to imagine my big girl was that little just six months ago!!

Here's the proud big brother, Conner. He's showing us how old he is. I can't believe how quickly those three years have gone by! He's such a big boy!
I love this little picture!! I had grand plans of taking lots of cute baby pictures but right after I took this one, my camera battery ran out!
Pray for little Ellett to eat!!

Coughing, Sneezing, & A Trip Down Memory Lane

So we are enduring Addison's very first cold *sniff, sniff*. She developed a cough on Sunday, only worsening from there. Monday the sneezing started and after listening to her cough all night long, I took her to the doctor for her fist sick visit. Thankfully, she didn't wake herself up and slept through the whole night. I, on the other hand, did not sleep, because every time I heard her cough, I had to turn on the video part of her monitor to check that she was still breathing. I have no idea how one can sleep through what can only be described as coughing up a lung, but my little sleepyhead did it. She was not running a fever, but she was pulling at her ears quite often. I was worried about everything from swine flu to an ear infection, but thankfully it's just a cold. I had to pay $25 to hear this, but it was definitely worth the peace of mind in knowing that there is nothing to worry about (Except that there is always something to worry about when you have a child. I'm told that the worry will never go away and I'm okay with that).

She has been a real trooper and hasn't let this cold affect her mood. She is still my happy baby. She is developing a quite the personality. She has certain toys that she likes better than others and she gets pretty upset with you if you try to take something away from her that she wants. She has figured out that she is able to move around a lot, so she makes it quite challenging to hold her sometimes. She'll reach out and grab things so quickly, it is hard to stop her before she has said item in her mouth. She is such a sweetie pie and it's hard to believe that she will be 6 months old in less than a week.

Going to the hospital to see Ellett brought back so many memories for me. The same doctor delivered Addison in a room literally just around the corner. I remember being wheeled from the delivery room to my mother/baby room and going past the nursery to drop Addison off. I remember the sweet nurse who was with me through the delivery (And I hate that I cannot for the life of me remember her name). I remember holding Addison for the first time with so much emotion and joy that it overpowered my exhaustion. I remember the first time I feed her (about 2 hours after her birth) and how she took to breastfeeding with such ease. I remember how alert she was right after birth; how she would just look around and how peaceful I felt. I remember the first evening we spent in the hospital and how we took turns passing her from visitor to visitor and when they were all gone for the night, we got her all to ourselves. That was such an exhilarating yet terrifying realization.

Going through pregnancy and giving birth was such an awesome experience. I really ache for the women (and families) who can't have children and want them. I have always wanted to adopt a child (and still do, hopefully in the future we will be able to), but I have always wanted to carry and birth a baby. I always took for granted the fact that God would allow me to do so without any complications. The ease of my pregnancy, labor, delivery and new mommy transition period, really blows my mind. God is so gracious! I am so thankful for the many tremendous ways me has blessed my life!

Thank you, God!!!

Welcome Matthew Ellett Collins!!

Jordan's sister, Lori and her husband, Brent welcomed Matthew Ellett Collins into the world last night. Lori has had a horrible pregnancy and has been in a tremendous amount of pain for the last 15 weeks or so. She was induced yesterday at 5:30 and had a pretty rough (2 failed attempts at an epidural before one was actually affective), but relatively quick (6 hrs) labor. She is still in need of prayers (aren't all new mothers?) with her on-going medical issues (kidney stones, lots of pain caused by said kidney stones, lots of procedures to fix said kidney stones, healing from giving birth...).
Matthew Ellett Collins
Born November 11, 2009
6 lbs, 9 ozs
18 inches

Ellett is a beautiful, tiny little guy and is very healthy! Lori and Brent were a patient couple and didn't know what the baby's gender would be until last night when he was born. I was very convinced that he was going to be a girl. I was obviously wrong. Is only a few ounces lighter than Addison was at birth, but he just seems so tiny. We were expecting this, though, since he was born at 37 weeks of gestation. Such a sweet baby boy!

I got the privilege of holding him today during my lunch break when I went to the hospital. I was on a complete newborn baby high!! Addison is only 6 months old, but I already miss the newborn stage. Mind you, I don't miss getting up 3 times a night to feed her, but I miss the newness and the smell and the tiny little hands and feet and the falling asleep in my arms with no effort, and the tiny little newborn-sized (clean) diapers. Look out, Ellett, our Aunt Jenny is going to hover around you like there is no tomorrow. I gotta get my (newborn) baby high from somewhere... :)
I had to put this picture on here. This was a sticker on the end table in the delivery room. I thought it was so funny! :)

Four Babies and Some Cups

Saturday was another fun day! Addison and I hung out at home while Jordan was at work. We did a lot of this:

and this:

Addison entertained herself for over an hour while I got ready. She wouldn't go to sleep and wasn't fussy, so I put her in the middle of my bed with pillows up at the edges. She laid on her back and talked to and chewed on her toy (pictured above). She is just such a good baby!!

It was a relaxing, sleepy day. When Jordan got off work we went to our friends Charlin and BJ's house for a get-together. I've mentioned this before but in our Bible Study group that used to meet, there were four of us pregnant at the same time. So we finally got all of the babies together for the first time. It was BJ, Charlin and baby John (8.5 months), Blake, Jessica and baby Tyler (7 months), Jordan, me, and Addison (almost 6 months), and Chuck, LeeAnn and baby Salem (5 months).

This is Addison and John. Looks like they are just having a nice little conversation, doesn't it.Addison with John and Salem. Salem is not quite to the sitting unassisted stage yet, so LeeAnn had to steady her in between each picture so that she wouldn't go toppling over. John was so cute because he kept looking from one little girl to the other. I took tons of pictures and his little head keeps going back and forth in them.
Our two girls came in coordinating outfits! They are just so cute!!

And here's the big group. Salem (with a little help from daddy), Tyler(the only one who sat still and smiled the whole time we were taking pictures), Addison (she's thinking "What is that on my foot? Maybe I'll eat it in a minute..." or she's pooping. not sure which.) and John (just waiting until the right moment to make his escape).

And baby shot take 2. (John's moment to escape was at hand)
Here's Tyler flirting with the girls.
All the babies did really well. We got there at 5:30 and ate hot dogs and chips and salsa/cheese dip. We played a lot of "pass the baby(ies)" and they stayed pretty content most of the time. At one point the mommies were sitting in the floor with the four babies and all of them (the babies) had a plastic cup that they absolutely loved playing with. Who needs toys and books when you have cups, right? We didn't end up leaving until 9:30, which is waaayyy past Addison's bedtime, but she wasn't fussy or anything. I think she fell asleep as soon as I put her in the car. It was nice to know that we are still able to get together and enjoy time together even with the little ones thrown in the mix.
I'm so thankful to God for giving us godly friends and now for giving Addison godly playmates as well. The timing of all of this still amazes me. Four different couples in the same bible study have their first child within 3 1/2 months of each other. God is so amazing! (I am also very amazed at the fact the I grew a baby in my body and the fact that I can feed that baby with milk that my body produces. Still just mind-boggling to me. So I say again, God is sooo amazing!!) I'm hoping that we will be able to start up some sort of bi-weekly, or monthly meeting with every one again, although I don't see much bible studying happening with all of the little ones on the go. Maybe a short devo will be possible. I'm definitely praying that we will remain close as a group and that we will be able to bring our children up in the Lord together.
Oh, and please pray that Addison is not getting sick. She has developed a little couch and has been pulling on her right ear a lot in the past few days. I keep blaming it on teething, but I'm not entirely sure that's what it is and I think it's just wishful thinking that she is not actually getting sick. If she is sick, she certainly isn't acting like it, though. She's still just as happy as ever. Silly Girl!

Rock Band

On Wednesday of last week, my cousin, Zach, and sister, Kyla, came up to spend a few days with us. Zach is in the Air Force and is stationed at an Army base in Georgia (please don't ask me which one. He's told me numerous times and I don't remember). When he gets long weekends off, he drives up through Charlotte, picks up Kyla, then spends the time here with us. So with Zach and Kyla came Rock Band!! I am normally not one for video games, but I love to play Rock Band! Wednesday and Thursday nights consisted of Zach, Kyla, Jordan and I having lengthy adult conversations about current world events ROCKING OUT until nearly midnight while Addison slept peacefully in her room. It amazes me how she can sleep through all of that noise!!

Then on Friday we had the big Rock Band Party! That just means we added our friends Jessica and Brenden to the mix (Go here and here for pictures, I don't have them up yet). We ate Chinese food and then stayed up until 2 am playing rock band and then just talking and goofing off. It was a lot of fun! I always love to hang out with friends!

Kyla and Zach had to leave on Saturday morning, so that Zach could get back home to sleep a bit before work on Saturday night (He works night shifts). I'm so glad that Zach is semi-close by and can come over every month or so. We never really got to spend much time together growing up since he lived in Reno and I lived here. It's nice to finally get to know him after so many years. Our next rock out session is scheduled for Thanksgiving. Can't wait!!

Oh, and I have to mention this: On Friday Jordan, Zach and Kyla went to Mocksville to pick up dinner while I was putting Addison to bed. They had been gone for a while and I called Jordan's to phone to figure out where they were. His phone started ringing on the kitchen counter, where he left it. So I called Kyla's phone and she answered it and asked if I had just called Jordan.

"Yeah, but he left his phone at home, so I'm calling you."

She got excited then, and said that just moments before, Jordan suddenly started patting around for his phone because he heard it ringing, but he never found it (you know, since it was sitting in the kitchen where he left it). So apparently we are just so connected that he knew I was calling him when he didn't even have his phone on him. WEIRD!!

Hopping and Rolling

Hey Everyone! It's Addison again! I decided I needed to share some of my new tricks with you. This past weekend I learned how to eat my feet and I do it all the time. I practiced up on my eating solid foods. Mommy says she already told you all about those so I won't go there. A really fun thing that I've started doing (mainly to scare mommy) is rolling over both ways. I've been rolling from my belly to my back a lot but I just now figured out how to do the other way too and do it all over the floor! It is so much fun! Now I can move all over the living room floor and not just stay on that tiny blanket mommy lays out for me. I even try to roll onto the hardwood floor. I did it once while Mommy was about to change my diaper (don't worry, we were sitting on the floor, not up high on the changing table) and I really didn't like it. That floor was hard! And COLD on my little tummy!!

So I start out sitting up, which is another really cool thing I learned how to do this weekend, like this.

Then I lean forward and smoosh my face into the bed

and then I just flop on over. It is just so much fun!! I hate to stay still now!!

I also like to sit in my johnny jump-up! It's so much fun. I don't really jump a whole lot, but I definitely like to spin around and move. look at my chunky legs! Mommy tells me just how adorable they are. I don't really care.

I look just like Mommy (in her baby pictures) right here.

Mommy and me.

Mommy, Aunt Kyla and me.

At home with the puppies

Mommy says this is one of her new favorite pictures of me. She also says that she wants to edit it and make it lighter on photo shop, whatever that is. The dogs take a big interest in me in my jumper. I like the dogs pretty well, they somewhat tolerate me. Macy tries to avoid me most of the time ever since I pulled her hair really hard one day. I don't know what the big deal is. But I don't really know what hair is either...
So, lets see, the list of new things I can do is growing. Sitting without support, rolling like a mad woman, eating cereal (and my feet). I'm really just growing up so fast.

Hush, Little Baby

When I am putting Addison to bed, I always sing "Hush, Little Baby" to her. I had to go online to look up the lyrics when I first started singing it because the only part I knew was "Hush, Little Baby, don't you cry Mommy's going to sing you a lullabye" and something about a mocking bird that won't sing and a diamond ring. Well, here's what I found online:

Hush, little baby, don't say a word.
Mama's gonna buy you a mockingbird

And if that mockingbird won't sing,
Mama's gonna buy you a diamond ring

And if that diamond ring turns brass,
Mama's gonna buy you a looking glass

And if that looking glass gets broke,
Mama's gonna buy you a billy goat

And if that billy goat won't pull,
Mama's gonna buy you a cart and bull

And if that cart and bull turn over,
Mama's going to buy you a dog named Rover.

And if that dog named Rover won't bark,
Mama's going to buy you a horse and cart.

And if that horse and cart fall down,
You'll still be the sweetest little baby in town.

After I found these lyrics, I started singing it the right way (except I say great, big goat instead of billy goat because it just flows better). Jordan has heard me sing it several times and he will just snicker while I'm singing it. I am not a great singer, so I thought maybe he was laughing at my voice, but then I noticed it was just at certain parts of the song. One night after I put Addison to bed, I came back down stairs and asked Jordan what he thought was so funny. He was laughing at the lyrics and told me that I sure came up funny lyrics. I told him to look up the lyrics and that they were stupid, but that's how the song goes. We never looked them up then, but a few nights later, Kyla was at our house and I was singing to Addison again while they were both laughing at me. Jordan tells Kyla, "She sure is going to buy Addison some weird stuff..." Well, then I got tickled and couldn't even sing to her anymore (She was mostly asleep, so I went ahead and put her to bed). I once again argued my point, but I still don't think he believed me.
So,here Jordan, this is the link to the lyrics (as seen above) to "Hush, Little Baby". No, I am not making them up.

I love to sing to Addison, by the way. I mainly just make up little songs (which is a valid reason for Jordan to think I was making up the hush little baby lyrics, but really, would I make up something about a "cart and bull" or a "horse and cart"?? Come on...Why would I buy those for her? More like cute dresses and dolls...Maybe I will make up some more lyrics... :) ha ha.) and she'll just look up at me. It's one of those sweet, intimate things that is between just the two of us. I've never loved anything more!!

A trip to the Dentist and an Addison Funny

I had to go to the dentist last week to get a cavity filled. My dentist is a super nice guy and I love all of the hygienists, too. So the dentist comes in and numbs up my mouth then leaves the room while the numbing is taking affect. He then comes back in the room with one of the assistant girls and they are having a conversation as the enter the room. I hear (they are behind me, so I can't see them) them talking about how much it is going to burn and that it really is bad and it's going to hurt a lot more than people think it does.

Okay so I am sitting in the chair and thinking Man, this is a mean joke to play on someone that is about to get a cavity filled. Why would they think this is funny?? It's a good thing that I'm not scared of going to the dentist because I would have been freaking out a little if I was. So I, going along with the joke, remarked, "Oh I know! I am so nervous!" And they pause for a minute and then start backtracking. Turns out that one of the people in the office wanted to get a set of vampire teeth made and they were discussing how much getting them put on hurts (It's the same process that would take place if you get a temporary crown before you get your permanent one, but with no pain management. And apparently it burns.)

Oops. So they weren't talking to me... I felt kind of dumb. Oh well, what do you do?? ha ha!

So now for my Addison funny of the day. I bought a mirror to put on the headrest in the back seat of the car so that when I look in my rear view mirror I can see my little Miss Pris. For the past few days I've noticed her really studying the big WARNING sign on the side of her car seat. It's right next to her face (normally what her face is resting up against when she falls asleep) so when she looks at it see goes kind of cross-eyed. It's so cute because it's like she's trying to read it and figure out what it says. I sure do love that girl!!

Man, this tastes good!!

Miss Addison had lots of yummy things this weekend! First of all she discovered her feet on Friday night. We were in the living room and I had just finished changing her diaper and had her laying on the couch with me. She started reaching for her feet and then pulled her right big toe right into her little mouth! I was so excited to see this because I think it is so adorable when babies try to eat their toes. Ah, yay!!almost there...
"Man, this is so yummy! Why hasn't anyone told me about these things before?!? Oh, wait, that's right. Mommy kept trying to stuff them in my mouth a few weeks ago."
Ever since this moment, Addison has had a constent desire to put her feet in her mouth. She'll grab her sock if she's wearing one and either pull it off or pull it to her mouth and suck on it. If she's is standing on my lap she will bend at the waist and try to get her mouth to her foot. If she's laying on her back she has her feet up to her mouth constantly. This is making diaper changes a bit more challenging. But I love watching her do it!!

We also had some more rice cereal on Saturday morning.

I think Addison was pretty into it...

What do you think? I LOVE LOVE LOVE this picture. So cute!

It was so cute because I was sitting in front of her, feeding her the cereal and Kyla was behind my left shoulder with the camera. Every time Addison would open up for the spoon, Kyla would snap a picture. So Addison started catching on and as I got her attention with the spoon, she would look at the spoon with her mouth wide open (above picture) and as I moved the spoon closer to her mouth...

...she would turn to look at Kyla with the camera because she knew what was coming. She did this every time! It was just adorable!!

I'm wanting to make some home made baby food and freeze it for Addison. I'm not going to start any other solids besides the rice cereal until after she turns six months old (in two weeks), then we'll start with some avocado, bananas, butternut squash, carrots (store bought), sweet potatoes, some other veggies that I can't think of right now. I'm going to try and stay away from the fruits for a little while so that she will accept the not-so-sweet things before she develops a taste for the sweet stuff and refuses the veggies. I'm really excited about this. She is turning into such a big girl! I love this age! (I think I say that for every age that she has gone through.)

Happy Halloween

Here are some pictures from our Halloween Weekend:
The first few are from Friday afternoon. Addison was at my mom's house and then went with my mom, dad and sister up to my Grandma's house and spent some time on her front porch.
This was at Mom's house. Addison was practicing her sitting skills and showing off her pumpkin onesie and her "I heart My Mom" bib.
I have to tell you that she looks just like I did as a baby in this picture. And I have to tell you that you might hear that again in this post because there are several... I'll have to scan some of my baby pictures and put them on here to compare.
He she is with her Grandpa (my dad). He is going to have her so spoiled!
Okay, so looks like me in this one, too. It may be the hat. There are several pictures of me wearing my dad's hats at this age. Addison and GranDee on the porch swing. I love this picture of my mom. She gets asked at least once or twice a week how old her baby is when she is out with Addison. So Young!
Below are pictures of the most adorable little cow you have ever seen. I just want to prepare you for the level of cuteness you are about to experience. These are from a Halloween party that was on Friday night.

MOOOOO!!!! Really, is she not the cutest little cow ever???

And this is what we call "Mad Cow Disease." This was Friday night, right after we got to the party and Addison was NOT in the party mood.

This is me trying to make the most of having a very cute, but very upset little cow.

Now, that's better! I feed her, burped her and changed her then handed her off to Mom to go show her off. Everyone just melted when they saw her!

Cline Family Halloween 2009

This is take two in the cow costume. It was actually taken on Halloween night. She looks a little bit unsure of what's going on here.

Here we are with my grandma. Addison was just a talking to her.

And again with Great-Mee-Maw.

Here she is with Aunt Kyla. Kyla was the farmer. ha ha. Notice the little glow-bracelet on her left ankle. Grandma gave her that for Halloween. I don't think she ever noticed it.

Addison decided that her little cow hoof would taste just as good as her own foot does. She just couldn't quite reach it...
Next, we have pictures of take three in the cow costume. We had to dress her up again on Sunday to show her off to Jordan's dad and grandparents.

And she is still just adorable!

She was even smiling for her Pa-Paw!

We had a great Halloween weekend. On Saturday night we ate with mom and dad and then used our extra hour (from the time change) wisely by playing card games! Fun times with the fam!! Hope your Halloween was great, too!
